World Cup = Very Little Renovation Progress

It has officially been a month and a half since I last posted, at which time I mentioned that I would try to post every 2-3 weeks. Oops, I guess I let that slip a bit didn't I. Who can do any work when the World Cup is going on!!!! I have been going into work early so I can take a long lunch to catch the 11am game and then I rush home from work in the afternoon to catch the second half of the afternoon game. I am so grateful that the concert venue/pub Radio Radio right down the street is showing every game. With the games officially ending this Sunday, hopefully I will be more diligent at working on my house and in turn updating this blog.

So in that month and a half time I have managed to do some work. I have completed hanging all the drywall and as of today have finally reached a point where I think I am ready to paint it. During the time that I have been taping the seams, spackling, sanding, spackling again, more sanding, that process feels like it goes on forever....... I have discovered that I have a deep hatred for finishing drywall. The quotes that I got were around a $1,000 so I figured since it is basically slow tedious work it wasn't worth the expense. Although I am glad I am $1,000 less in the hole I am definately hiring out the upstairs drywall and my days of mass sanding and spackling are temporarily over (basically I am leaving myself an out so when I get cheap when in the future I convince myself that if I did it once I can do it again!).

So now I can get on with priming and painting! So I will have something that resembles a house inside.
